The governor of Almaty met with British Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan
10.04.2025 16:52:12 154The governor of the megapolis noted that the UK had significant experience in the field of innovative development and Almaty was interested in some of the best practices in the implementation of Smart City projects, using the example of London and Manchester. The trade between Almaty and Great Britain demonstrates a positive dynamics, having increased by 54.7% in 2017 in comparison with the previous year and reaching about 275 million US dollars.
In turn, Michael Gifford stressed that the parties have all the prerequisites for further enhancing cooperation.
"I chose Almaty as one of the first working trips as the fastest growing metropolitan area in the region. I am confident that the initiatives implemented in the city will bring it to a new level. For my part, I will do everything necessary to further strengthen cooperation between our companies, expand educational programs and mutually enrich cultures,"said the British Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
During the meeting of the delegation, the potential of the Investor Service Center on the principle of "one window", Industrial Zone and FEZ "PIT" was presented. Today in Almaty there are 144 enterprises with the participation of British capital in the sphere of trade, finance, telecommunications, construction, etc.
