On December 26, 2018, in a regional briefing service in the city of Turkestan held a briefing on the reduction and introduction of compensating tariffs to natural monopolies in the Turkestan region.

The head of the Department of the Committee for the Regulation of Natural Monopolies, Protection of Competition and Consumer Rights of the MNE of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Turkestan Region (hereinafter - the Department) E. Ibrahikhanov spoke in detail about the work of the department, carried out in response to the instructions of the Head of State at the meeting of the Security Council on November 7, 2018.

The department held public receptions of citizens on issues in the field of public services in the cities of Shymkent, Kentau, Turkestan, as well as in Sairam, Saryagash and Maktaral districts. Deputies of maslikhats, representatives of state bodies, subjects of natural monopolies, and public associations took part in the work of public receptions. 771 people participated in public receptions.

The Department conducted unscheduled inspections in relation to 5 CEM (GKP “Zhylu”, GKP “Turkistan Su”, LLP “Oktustyk Zharyk Transit”, GKP “Kentau-Service” and GKP “Ashyschay su”) regarding the activities of which received complaints from consumers.

“Following the results of the inspections, administrative proceedings were instituted with the imposition of administrative fines in respect of 4 CEM in the amount of 6,493.5 thousand tenge,” noted E. Ibraihanov.

In conclusion of his speech, the head of the department added that as a result of the work done, tariffs for the final consumer will decrease from 3% to 15.31%, depending on the services.
