The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Korea and the Ministry of Water Management of the People's Republic of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of water resources for the first time. The corresponding agreement was signed at the 12th session of the Kazakhstan-China Cooperation Committee chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar and the Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Suesian. The document aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the areas of rational and sustainable use of water, introduction of modern technologies, allocation and development of alternative water sources, as well as exchange of experience and joint training of specialists. The two sides immediately began to develop a draft agreement. Cooperation in water resources issues contributes to the effective use of an important resource, the introduction of advanced technologies of water accounting and saving, and the improvement of the qualifications of water specialists", - said the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov.
