A special task force created by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan stopped the illegal digging and theft of young trees near the Shchuchinsk-Burabay resort area.

On March 17, 2025, during a raid, nature protection inspectors noticed 8 men digging young coniferous trees on the edge of the forest. During the search, those detained could not show any authorization documents. A total of 37 pine trees were dug up and prepared for removal.

An emergency investigation team was urgently called to the scene, and all those arrested were taken to the local police station. The issue of initiating a criminal case under Articles 24 and 188 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan is under consideration. It is being checked whether other persons are involved in this crime.
