Prevention of corruption: methods and effective solutions
15.04.2025 17:51:26 1559Corruption is one of the most urgent problems that hinders the sustainable development of the state. It leads not only to economic costs, but also to a decrease in public confidence in the authorities. In order to solve this problem, large-scale reforms are being carried out in Kazakhstan, and the legislative framework is being improved. However, prevention of corruption is not only the duty of law enforcement agencies, but also the whole society.
In order to fight corruption, it is important to prevent it, not to eradicate it. For this, it is necessary to implement several comprehensive measures:
- Ensure transparency and digitization in public administration
Development of electronic government: By transferring public services to electronic format, it is possible to reduce the human factor and eliminate bureaucratic obstacles. Expanding the capabilities of the "Egov" platform, automating public services is one of the effective ways to reduce the level of corruption.
Increasing the transparency of public procurement: projects such as "E-Salyq Azamat" and "Open Budget" allow monitoring the use of public funds. By improving these systems, it is necessary to ensure transparent and fair distribution of funds.
- Strengthening public control
Increasing anti-corruption activity of citizens: People should be able to monitor the activities of state bodies and report any illegal activities. For this, the role of hotlines, online complaint systems and community councils should be strengthened.
Protection of citizens who report corruption: In most cases, citizens are afraid to speak about wrongdoing. Strengthening the system of protecting them by law is the only way to reduce corruption in society.
- Education and increasing legal literacy
Forming an anti-corruption culture among young people: introducing special subjects in universities and schools, inculcating the values of honesty and justice in the young generation by increasing legal literacy.
Introducing anti-corruption training programs for government employees: All levels Ethical standards and anti-corruption laws should be systematically explained to employees.
- Strict punishment and increased responsibility
Increased punishment for corruption: As world experience shows, strict enforcement of the law is the main factor in reducing the level of corruption. Penalties for public servants who commit illegal acts should be increased.
Improving salaries and social conditions of public servants: By improving the social security system, they can be protected from resorting to illegal sources of income.
Prevention of corruption is not only the responsibility of the state, but of every citizen. Transparency, fairness and active public participation are the keys to solving this problem. If each of us preserves the law and contributes to the creation of a just society, we can achieve results that will give impetus to the development of our country.
