Kazakhstan will strengthen measures to train sailors
15.04.2025 17:53:43 1665Measures for the development of the domestic system of training sailors were discussed at a round table held in Aktau. This issue is very important in the context of Kazakhstan's demand to be included in the "white list" of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and, as a result, to conclude an agreement on the recognition of professional diplomas with the states near the Caspian Sea. 1.5 thousand people were involved in the work on these ships. Among them, the share of RK citizens in the crew is 52%, and the management staff is only 25%.
The industry clearly needs domestic seafarers. Personnel in the specialty "Marine technology and technologies" are trained at the Kazakhstan Maritime Academy, Sh. Yesenov Caspian State University of Technologies and Engineering, Atyrau Oil and Gas Institute. According to statistics, the contingent of students for the 2017-2018 school year is about 400 people.
In this regard, work is currently underway to certify the training centers of educational institutions with the authorized institution of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.Regarding training centers, today practically all sailors and students undergo training in Russia and Azerbaijan. In this regard, a memorandum was signed with educational institutions on the basis of YKK ("Eskertkysh Kyzmet Kazakhstan" LLP), which has training centers located in Atyrau and Bautino. The purpose of the document is to organize and develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of training and professional development of marine transport specialists.
Participants also discussed issues related to students' swimming experience. In 2018, 220 students are planned to be trained. For this purpose, the Ministry of Education and Science allocated 120 million tenge.
In addition, during the event, Caspian Offshore Construction Company presented the ready-to-use training vessel "Nomad". "Nomad" allows 15 students to practice at the same time.
