City police arrested a chef of a local cafe on suspicion of selling drugs.
According to the police, the man used his job to sell illegal substances.
"He sold hashish at his workplace and used the cafe to hide his criminal activities. The cook was arrested after the urgent measures aimed at finding out all the circumstances of the case. As a result of the arrest and search, drugs and other items related to illegal drug trafficking were seized. The arrested citizen was arrested. Now, investigations are being conducted in order to determine all the data of the criminal activity and whether other people are involved in it," said Murat Zhumabaev, head of the Anti-Drug Crime Department of the Almaty PD.
Almaty police urge citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to drugs.
