Representative of the Chinese Communist Party paid an official visit to the Almaty City Council

Today Liu Jianchao, head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, paid an official visit to the Almaty City Council.

During the meeting, Mr. Meirzhan Otynshiev, the chairman of the council, told the guest about the socio-economic development of Almaty, its role as the largest financial, business and cultural center of Kazakhstan. Also, the activities of the Almaty maslikhat, its powers and role in the development of the city were introduced.

Deputies spoke about the structure and directions of work of the maslikhat and noted that 42 deputies will serve in the 8th convocation, among them there are representatives of various political parties and independent candidates. During the meeting, issues of urban management, sustainable development, digitization and expansion of international cooperation were discussed.

Within the framework of the development of partnership between the two countries, special attention was paid to strengthening business and humanitarian ties between Almaty and the leading cities of China. In this context, the visit of the Almaty City Council delegation to Xi'an and Beijing in 2024, as well as the visit of Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dosayev to China in February this year, were mentioned. During this visit, opportunities for cooperation in the field of investment projects, digital technologies and infrastructure solutions were discussed.
