In the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first meeting of the interdepartmental commission on the affairs of minors and protection of their rights in 2025 was held. Representatives of central state and local executive bodies, non-governmental organizations took part in its work.
The meeting discussed systematic measures aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency, lack of supervision and homelessness, as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
According to official statistics, the level of juvenile crime in the country has decreased by three times in the last 10 years. Despite the increase in the rate of detection and registration of offenses, according to the results of 2024, it has decreased by an additional 5%. However, Zhetysu, Ulytau, Pavlodar, Akmola, Karaganda regions, as well as the cities of Astana and Shymkent still have problems that require specific and targeted solutions.
As the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted, comprehensive work is being carried out to prevent crimes among minors in the country. However, rapid changes in the social environment require the active participation of all parties, from state authorities to parents, in this process. This approach is also reflected in the analytical materials of the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The commission studied in detail the current situation, the main causes of illegal behavior among teenagers, and proposed practical steps for their socialization and prevention. He noted that it is necessary to pay special attention to legal education, educational work and effective organization of free time. In addition, priority was given to revitalizing the work of pedagogical support centers for parents and regional psychological services in schools.
