The Junior Artistic Swimming World Championship has ended in Budapest (Hungary). From August 12 to August 16, 300 athletes from 35 countries competed for medals. The national team of Kazakhstan won two silver and two bronze medals at the world Championships. This result allowed our team to take the fourth place in the medal standings. Russia became the leader, Spain took the second place, and China was the third.
The athletes of the Karaganda region are greatly responsible for this success of our national team. Kazakhstan took the silver medal in the acrobatic program. Among the winners are Dayana Dzhamanchalova, a pupil of the A. N. Moldagulova boarding college (a branch in Temirtau), as well as representatives of the Olympic Reserve swimming school of the Karaganda region – Polina Merzlyakova, Anastasia Voronkova and Sofia Ishchenko. All the girls are also part of the variable composition of the Olympic Reserve training center.
Viktor Druzin (technical and free programs), a representative of the school of higher sports excellence of the Karaganda region, rose to the third step of the podium twice at this World Championship.
Congratulations to the athletes and, of course, their coaches - Jerzy Anatolyevna Kotova, Oksana Aleksandrovna Moskvicheva, Ilya Vladimirovich Kotov and Svetlana Viktorovna Yakusheva.
