Fire safety and toxic gas prevention measures are being implemented

Since the beginning of the heating season, fire incidents and toxic gas poisoning have become more frequent in the region. This was announced by the deputy head of the Emergency Situations Department of Abay region, colonel of civil defense Aleksey Shtykel at a press conference held at the regional communications service site.

- Since the beginning of the heating season, 9 people have died due to fire, which is 2.2 times more than at the same time last year (4 people). Also, 9 people were injured, and in the last heating season, this indicator was 2 people, that is, the increase is 4.5 times. Only last week, 2 children died and 1 woman was injured in a fire in the region. In addition to fires, cases of poisoning of people from poisonous gas are also increasing. Since the beginning of the heating season, 26 cases have been registered and 21 people have been hospitalized, 9 of them are children, - the speaker noted.

Furthermore, last week 5 cases of toxic gas poisoning were registered and 3 people died. 15 people were injured and 2 were hospitalized. Strict observance of safety rules during the heating season is the main guarantee of saving human life. In this regard, residents are warned to follow fire safety and toxic gas prevention measures, to use stoves and gas appliances properly.
