Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sungat Esimkhanov took part in the ministerial meeting "Green Energy Corridor - Southern Gas Corridor" held in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.

S. In his speech, Yesimkhanov emphasized the strategic importance of developing the Southern Gas Corridor as a stable route for the supply of energy resources. Kazakhstan is actively developing infrastructure and logistics in order to enter new export markets, having a large reserve of natural gas. In 2024, the volume of gas production in the country was 59 billion cubic meters, and by 2030 there is a prospect of increasing it to 68 billion cubic meters per year. The main projects in this direction remain the Kashagan and Karashiganak deposits.

The Vice Minister paid special attention to the issues of environmental stability. Kazakhstan actively supports the development of low-carbon solutions, including associated gas utilization technologies and promising projects for the production of "green" hydrogen. As part of the recently signed tripartite agreement, an initiative to build an underwater high-voltage cable across the Caspian Sea is being implemented between Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan as part of the "green energy corridor".

Also, the Vice Minister held a series of bilateral meetings with the European Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen and Eric Jacobs, Senior Advisor of the US Department of State's Bureau of Energy Resources, where the parties discussed issues of cross-border investments and sustainable development. exchanged.

Finally, the vice-minister confirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to deepen regional and international energy cooperation, to develop diversified and ecologically safe routes for the supply of energy resources, including "green" energy components.
