Historical training took place at the literary hour organized in library #4 of Almaty city. "To the Great Victory - eternal glory!" The event gathered readers and made it possible to look deeper into our past, full of heroic deeds of our heroes. The participants got acquainted with the works depicting the heroic path of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, and also had the opportunity to have a personal conversation with the veterans.

Chairman of the veterans' council of Almaly district Batay Kabilov and labor veteran Serik Akhmedov shared their memories. They told about the hardships of the war years and their comrades who showed bravery at the front. Ongarbek Sydykbekov, a veteran of armed conflicts, recalled the events on Damansk Island in 1969, while Duandar Umarov and Roman Yun touched on the topic of the Afghan war.

For college students and schoolchildren, this meeting was not only an introduction to historical information, but also an important lesson glorifying bravery and patriotism. These meetings made the young people deeply understand the need not to forget our past, to appreciate it and to be proud of the feats of our ancestors.

During the event, a book exhibition called "The Great Victory - an appeal to posterity" was organized in the study hall, as well as a historical-educational quiz called "Echoes of fiery years". Valuable books were awarded to the winners of the quiz.

«The Great Patriotic War is one of the most tragic and heroic periods in our history, this war changed the fate of millions of people and was a great challenge. The feats done on the front and in the rear represent love for the motherland, bravery and courage. The Great Victory is not just a date, it is a symbol of freedom and independence, for which huge sacrifices were made. Our main goal is to preserve the historical memory, to form the patriotic consciousness of young people, to cultivate love for the motherland and respect for the past," Aliya Inkarbek, head of branch library No. 4 of Almaty, noted.
