In the framework of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, an excursion for veterans was held in the police department of the North Kazakhstan region. About twenty active members of the regional council of veterans took part in the event.

The guests got acquainted with the work of the emergency management center. They saw with their own eyes that today modern technologies are widely used in public order. 420 video surveillance cameras have been installed on the streets of Petropavlovsk and in public places. Since the beginning of the year, with their help, 68 crimes have been solved and more than 4,500 violations have been detected. In general, images from more than 10,000 cameras installed by various organizations are displayed on the monitors of the Center for Public Safety. The veterans were particularly interested in seeing their yard and school corridors where their grandchildren were educated. About 80 percent of the awards given to law enforcement officers during the Great Patriotic War can be seen in the expositions. This is a testimony of the valiant contribution of more than 770 North Kazakhs who served in internal affairs bodies after the war. The head of the museum, Lyubov Osinskaya, told the guests about those feats in detail. In addition, the participants watched special video materials from the museum fund. Among them is a documentary film that took the third place in the international museum competition.

According to Akan Syzdykov, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Police and National Guard, such excursions will be organized for members of primary veteran organizations in Petropavlovsk and regional districts. Remembering the bravery of the heroes of the Great Victory is the honorable duty of the generation that lives freely.
