Advertising materials and video clips offering citizens to sign contracts with the Armed Forces of other states for a fee are spreading on social networks. If a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan intentionally and illegally participates in an armed conflict or hostilities in the territory of a foreign country without signs of employment (Article 172 of the Criminal Code), the punishment is imprisonment from five to nine years. And for mercenary (Article 170 of the Criminal Code), depending on the severity of the offense, the punishment of deprivation of liberty for a term starting from seven years or for life, deprivation of citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan with or without it, as well as confiscation of property is provided," the ministry informed.
