Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Magzum Myrzagaliyev and Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Akkenzhenov held a working meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak. During the meeting, the main issues of cooperation in the field of energy were discussed.

The discussion covered the issues of expanding the transit potential of oil and gas pipelines of Kazakhstan. Also, options for gasification of the northern and eastern regions of Kazakhstan were considered, taking into account economic efficiency and national priorities. The agenda included coordination within OPEC+, cooperation in the fields of electric power, hydropower, renewable energy sources, participation of companies in oil and gas projects, and general energy cooperation issues related to peace nuclear and joint work opportunities in the financial and banking sector. The main factors affecting its implementation and the issues of favorable financing conditions were also raised. The parties exchanged opinions on technological solutions in coal generation.

"We held a meaningful and constructive dialogue with our Russian colleagues on wide-ranging issues of energy cooperation. Ensuring its energy security, increasing reliability of supply and implementing plans to modernize the industry are top priorities for Kazakhstan. We consider all joint projects and initiatives based on economic efficiency and mutual benefit within the framework of national interests," said Yerlan Akkenzhenov, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the conclusion of the meeting.

The parties once again emphasized their positions on strategic partnership and constructive cooperation. The participants agreed to continue active dialogue on all discussed issues in order to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
