Currently, the Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan is working on the creation of an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) within the framework of the state program "Digital Kazakhstan". The scale of the project is large, so it is planned to be implemented by 2021.

ITS elements will be introduced on the road in stages using innovative technologies.

One of the components is special automated measuring devices (AMS) installed on the main road corridors. The EMS ensures that the vehicle in motion is measured without interference, and that unnecessary stops are removed.

Implementation of the project will allow to reduce the number of people killed on the road, increase the volume of transit transport and the speed of logistics services, cover the main road corridors with measuring devices, and create favorable conditions for drivers on the roads. Such systems are working well in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Europe and the CIS.
