For the first time, the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Judicial Council held an individualized online course for judges specializing in criminal cases on the topic: "Peculiarities of criminal proceedings with participation of jury”.

The seminar was conducted within the framework of the Concept on Development of the Academy of Justice, approved at the begging of the year by the Regulation of the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Dmitriy Malakhov.

The initiative is aimed at deepening the professional competencies of judges in the context of reforming the criminal process and expanding the practice of considering criminal cases with the participation of jury. Judges from all regions of the country took part in the training.

The substantive part of the program was presented by the Judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kosmuratov Yerlan Smadiyarovich and the judge of the Astana City Court Yesymova Alma Yesymovna. The speakers elaborated on the key aspects of the jury trial, paying special attention to practical challenges and law enforcement practice.

The presentations inspired a vivid reaction from the participants, becoming the basis for professional discussion and exchange of experience. The seminar confirmed the high demand of the judicial corps in specialized training formats that meet contemporary challenges of the justice.
