One of the halls of the Karaganda regional Children's Library named after Abai has turned into a corner of the Kingdom of Belgium. The exhibition "Le Tour de Belgique en BD" ("A comic book tour of Belgium") opened here.
The exhibition was brought as part of the Francophone Spring – 2025 program.
Visitors are invited to mentally travel from another country and, through original stories, be inspired by the richness of its three regions – Brussels, Flemish and Walloon.
– This exhibition is presented by the Embassy of Belgium in Kazakhstan. By visiting the Abai Library, everyone will be able to discover this European country. The special feature is that the exhibition was created jointly with the Brussels Museum of Comics. There is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of hand-drawn stories and appreciate the beauty of different cities in Belgium. This small country has three official languages: Dutch, French and German. All of them are present on the panel," said Ekaterina Firsova, head of the French Alliance of Karaganda.
The exhibition opened on April 24 and will be available until May 8. Admission is free.
The Karaganda Regional Children's Library named after Abai is located at 30 Bukhar-Zhyrau Ave. (stop "Palace of Culture of Miners").
