The Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency in Shymkent, has uncovered and stopped the activities of an organized criminal group that systematically facilitated the issuance of driver’s licenses in exchange for monetary rewards.

The investigation revealed that during 2023–2024, officials led by Zh.Murashimov, the head of Specialized Public Service Center No. 2 of the "Government for Citizens" National Company, organized an illegal scheme for obtaining driver’s licenses without passing the required theoretical and practical exams.

A fee ranging from 150,000 to 400,000 tenge was charged for these “services.”

As a result, at least 500 individuals unlawfully obtained driver’s licenses.

To ensure confiscation, property worth over 200 million tenge was seized from the suspects, including 2 private houses, 2 apartments, 2 land plots, and 10 vehicles.

By court order, 12 suspects have been placed in custody.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
