The first Republican Festival of Named museums "Mangilik Tulgalar", a large-scale cultural event that brought together museums from different parts of the country, took place in Kokshetau at the site of the Shakhmet Kusainov regional Kazakh Musical and Drama Theater. The event is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of Hero of the Soviet Union, academician, writer and public figure Malik Gabdullin, as well as to the 30th anniversary of the museum named in his honor. In addition, the festival became the prologue to the International Museum Day, which is celebrated annually on May 18.

The festival was organized by the Department of Culture of the Akmola region and the Malik Gabdullin Museum with the support of the Akimat of the region. Its main goal is to strengthen ties between the renowned museums of Kazakhstan, promote the historical and cultural heritage of outstanding personalities, develop the museum sector in a modern format and generate interest among young people in national history.

Exhibition pavilions were installed on the theater square, where 11 museums from different regions of the country presented their expositions. According to national traditions, the guests were greeted by girls in Kazakh costumes, live music and a special atmosphere of respect for the past. Each museum presented unique exhibits and stories related to the names of famous Kazakhstanis — poets, writers, public figures, scientists and heroes. Participants and guests of the festival were able to see expositions dedicated to Zhambyl Zhabaev, Akhmet Baitursinov, Myrzhakip Dulatov, Mukagali Makataev, Ilyas Yesenberlin, Ybyray Altynsarin, Aliya Moldagulova and other iconic figures of Russian history and culture.

Special attention was paid to the exhibition of the Malik Gabdullin Museum, the main organizer of the festival. Opened in 1995, this museum is rightfully considered one of the leading in its category. In 2022, it was recognized as the "Best Named Museum" at the republican Rukhani Kazyna competition. Under the leadership of director Kenzhebai Mukishev, the museum staff presented a rich exposition revealing the heroic path, literary and scientific heritage of Malik Gabdullin.

The festival opened with a theatrical performance and performance of traditional Kazakh music. The audience was reminded of the importance of the historical figures whose names the museums are named after, and their contribution to the development of spirituality, culture and education in the country. These scenes have become a vivid example of how to talk about the past in a modern language, touching and meaningful.

The figure of Malik Gabdullin once again reminded of himself not only as a participant in the war, but also as a symbol of Kazakh enlightenment, spiritual heritage and service to the people. The festival has become a form of recognition of his achievements and a way to inspire young people to respect history and national values.

The Mangilik Tulgalar Festival has shown how much demand there is today for live formats combining museum work, art and public memory. The organizers expressed confidence that this initiative will be continued and will become a good tradition at the national level.
