Today, with the participation of the Akim of the North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov, a warm and exciting meeting with respected veterans of the home front took place. In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, they were awarded jubilee medals — a sign of recognition for their selfless work during the war, for their contribution to the common cause of Victory. The veterans shared their memories of those difficult times.

"We bow our heads before your resilience, fortitude and boundless love for the Motherland. Thanks to you, we live under a peaceful sky. A deep bow to you and eternal gratitude!" the head of the region noted.

The work of veterans of the home front is a feat equal to that on the front line. While soldiers fought at the front, children, young men and women selflessly worked in the rear — in the fields, on collective farms, in factories and on the railway. Day and night they brought Victory closer with their sweat and perseverance, providing the army with food and necessary resources.
