This year, farmers plan to sow 5.4 million hectares of spring crops, 52,000 hectares more than last season. The emphasis is on diversification: the area for oilseed crops is increasing to 430 thousand hectares, as well as for vegetables, potatoes and feed. It's already May on the calendar, and every day plays a key role in the fate of the future harvest. One of the primary tasks remains to preserve the moisture accumulated in the soil over the winter. Moisture closure has already been carried out on an area of 128.9 thousand hectares, which is 4.4% of the plan. Pre-sowing treatment covered 3.2 thousand hectares. In total, more than 200 billion tenge has been allocated to support the agro-industrial complex of the region this year: 63.3 billion were allocated for subsidies, about 140 billion for concessional lending and forward purchase. The "Ken Dala" and "Ken Dala 2" programs started working back in December, thanks to which farmers have already received 71.5 billion tenge at preferential rates.
