The Department of State Revenue for the Mangystau region informs that according to subparagraph 7) of paragraph 1 of Article 343 of the Code "On Customs Regulation in the Republic of Kazakhstan", cash and traveler's checks are subject to customs declaration if the total amount of such cash and traveler's checks is upon their one-time import into the customs territory of the EAEU or one-time export from the customs territory of the EAEU. The territory of the EAEU exceeds the amount equivalent to ten thousand US dollars at the exchange rate effective on the day of submission of the passenger customs declaration to the customs authority.
However, in order to protect the national interests of the country and ensure financial stability, Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 14, 2022 No. 830 is currently in force, which prohibits the export of foreign currency in cash and (or) monetary instruments in foreign currency in an amount exceeding the equivalent of 10,000 (ten thousand) US dollars and calculated at the exchange rate The National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, established on the date of export.
At the same time, in accordance with the Decision of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated July 23, 2019 No. 124 "On the customs declaration of goods for personal use", information about goods for personal use of individuals under the age of 16 is indicated together with information about goods for personal use of the person accompanying these persons, in one passenger customs declaration.
Thus, it is allowed to transfer foreign currency in cash for each family member, not exceeding the equivalent of 10,000 (ten thousand) US dollars.
