Buenos Aires, May 6, 2025 – During a working visit to the Argentine Republic, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil and concurrently to Argentina, Bolat Nussupov, met with the newly appointed Deputy Foreign Minister of Argentina, Eduardo Bustamante, and the Political Director, Ambassador Betina Pasquali de Fonseca.

On behalf of the leadership of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador once again congratulated Eduardo Bustamante on his appointment and wished him success in his new role. In this context, a letter from the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Akan Rakhmetullin, was handed over, conveying congratulations and an invitation to visit Astana for the next round of political consultations.

The talks focused on the implementation of agreements reached during the fourth round of political consultations held in Buenos Aires on August 22, 2023, as well as the strengthening of bilateral political and trade-economic cooperation. The parties also discussed aspects of the bilateral meeting held at the Argentine Foreign Ministry on June 5, 2024.

In this context, both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made in implementing the bilateral agenda.

In particular, they highlighted the establishment last year of the “Kazakhstan–Argentina” Parliamentary Friendship Group within the Argentine Parliament and the holding of its first joint online session with Kazakh partners on December 18, 2024. They also noted the founding of the Kazakhstan–Argentina Business Council this year, co-chaired by the “Meat Union of Kazakhstan” and the “Argentine National Institute for the Promotion of Beef.”

In this regard, the Ambassador invited the leadership of the Argentine Foreign Ministry to attend the signing ceremony of the relevant memorandum between the founding parties and the inaugural meeting of the Business Council, scheduled for May 7 this year in Buenos Aires. The parties also discussed certain aspects of the upcoming fifth round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, to be held in Astana.

Within the framework of multilateral cooperation, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude to the Argentine side for its support of the resolution on the establishment of the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty.
