On May 6, 8 and 10, not just a theatrical action unfolded on the stage of the Akmola Regional Russian Drama Theater, but a deep human confession. On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the drama "The Soldier's Father" based on the play by Suliko Zhgenti was presented here, a play where the main emphasis is not on the roar of weapons, but on the silence of the father's heart.
There were no combat scenes on the stage, no gunshots. But there was a tense silence in the hall, in which the breathing of the audience could be heard, each of whom empathized with the hero, the Georgian peasant Giorgi Makharashvili. Performed by actor S. Tavgen, this image became the true embodiment of fatherly love and humanity. His path is not to the front, but to his wounded son, through the chaos of war, through pain, through which he discovers the essence of life itself.
The production, created by director Olga Lutsiva, is built with a fine taste and respect for drama and history. Every scene is like a pause in the heart, every word is like a thought—provoking blow. The simplicity of Gulnara Kanafina's scenic design only enhanced the emotional power of the performance. V. Ovchinnikov's musical accompaniment profoundly complemented the atmosphere of inner anguish and hope. Assistant director — S. Zharikova.
The performance lasted only 70 minutes, but in that short time the audience lived a lifetime of anxiety, pain, and faith. On stage, A. Bronnikova shone as a mother, A. Vladimirov, S. Minakov and A. Egorin as soldiers — each of them brought warmth and authenticity to the production.
The audience included schoolchildren and students, veterans and representatives of the creative intelligentsia, who are not indifferent to live theater. When the curtain came down, the people's faces spoke for themselves: tears, silence, and gratitude. It was a play that wasn't played in — it was lived in. He didn't just touch, he opened the door to the most important things — to memory, to love, to humanity.
"Father of a Soldier" became a reminder that Victory is not only a military feat. This is the victory of the heart, kindness, and spiritual strength. A victory that lives on in those who have remained human despite the brutality of the war. It was this meaning that the theater conveyed to the audience, and it was heard.
