The tribute to fallen Kazakh soldiers took place in Poland

Warsaw, May 8, 2025  - In honor of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War at the Memorial Cemetery-Mausoleum of Soviet Soldiers in Warsaw held a ceremony of laying wreaths at the graves of Kazakh soldiers. The solemn event was attended by employees of the Embassy of Kazakhstan and the Office of the Military Attaché. Diplomats honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence.

Reference: The Cemetery-mausoleum of Soviet soldiers on Zwirki and Wigura Street in Warsaw was opened in 1950. On the area of 19.2 hectares are buried 22 thousand Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of Warsaw, among whom there are Kazakhs. On the Polish land during the Second World War 27 thousand Kazakhs died. This cemetery is the largest burial place of Soviet warriors on the territory of Poland.
