Ambassador of Kazakhstan meets with the Mayor and businessmen of Zarasai

Zarasai, May 9, 2025 – As part of a working visit to the city of Zarasai (Utena County), the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lithuania, Timur Urazayev, held a meeting with Mayor Nijolė Guobienė and representatives of the local business community.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including in the context of the mandates of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Ambassador Urazayev presented the measures being implemented by the Government of Kazakhstan to support foreign investors and improve the business climate, and invited Lithuanian entrepreneurs to consider participating in specific investment projects.
The local business representatives expressed strong interest in developing joint initiatives and exploring new areas of partnership.
Particular attention was given to cooperation in the tourism sector. Ambassador Urazayev spoke about Kazakhstan’s growing potential as a travel destination, highlighting ongoing state efforts to boost the sector and introducing new tools such as the Neo Nomad visa category. The Lithuanian side received a travel guide to Kazakhstan in the Lithuanian language.
The parties also discussed cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Emphasis was placed on introducing Lithuanian readers to Kazakhstan’s history and culture, particularly through translations of major Kazakh literary works into Lithuanian — including “The Path of Abai” by M. Auezov, “The Return of the Teacher” by A. Alimzhanov, “Mamluk” by E.Tursunov, among others.
