A festive event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, called “Zhenis shezhresi - Mangilik dank”, was held in the village of Bastaushi. Akim of Samar district Serik Zhenisov delivered a congratulatory speech and expressed his good wishes to the villagers. During the concert, the veterans of the home front and the veterans of the Nagorno-Karabakh war were honored and awarded. Kartai Kudaibergenov, a veteran of the home front, and Aidos Bolatovich, the district prosecutor, also congratulated those present on Victory Day. Gulnar Shaimardanova, chairman of the district maslikhat, also attended the event. The grand opening of the monument erected in honor of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War took place. Wreaths were laid at the Eternal Flame and a minute of silence was observed in memory of those who died in the war. The festive concert continued with songs and dances performed by artists and creative groups of the village of Bastausha.
