On May 12, 2025, East Kazakhstan region hosted the grand opening of the regional championships. The event brought together representatives of the public sector, education and business, as well as students and educators.

Welcoming the participants, Deputy Akim of East Kazakhstan region Erbol Nurgaliyev highlighted that 2025 has been declared the Year of Skilled Trades in Kazakhstan on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

He stressed that a strong and resilient economy of the country depends heavily on a highly skilled workforce, and expressed confidence that such championships help promote working professions among young people.

On 13-15 May, 2025, over 170 students from 28 colleges will demonstrate their talents at the Competence Centers and leading colleges of Ust-Kamenogorsk city. The participants’ work will be evaluated by local experts, ensuring fairness, transparency, and high professional standards throughout the assessment process.

Valuable prizes for the winners and prize-winners have been prepared on behalf of Akim of East Kazakhstan region and sponsors.
