Brasília, May 12, 2025 – The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Brazil hosted the fourth annual conference of ambassadors and diplomats from Kazakhstan, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Chile, and Ecuador, with the participation of leadership from the supervising department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

During the meeting, participants engaged in a substantive exchange of views on current issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and discussed plans for collaboration in the current year with both the host and supervised countries, particularly regarding the organization of upcoming political consultations and the expansion of the legal and treaty framework.

In his welcome remarks, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bolat Nussupov briefed the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions on the progress of ongoing political and socio-economic reforms in Kazakhstan, in the context of the President’s address to the nation titled “Just Kazakhstan: Law and Order, Economic Growth, Social Optimism.” The Ambassador also spoke about Kazakhstan’s investment and trade opportunities, as well as prospects for expanding the legal framework and enhancing cooperation through consular services and Honorary Consuls of Kazakhstan in the respective countries.

The Kazakh diplomat thanked his colleagues for their contribution to strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the South American nations, and emphasized the practical importance of such a meeting format as an additional channel for bilateral and multilateral dialogue.

In this context, the Ambassador shared the outcomes of his recent working visits to the Eastern Republic of Uruguay to attend the inauguration of President Yamandú Orsi, and to the Argentine Republic, where he met with the new leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and participated in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum establishing the Kazakhstan-Argentina Business Council. He extended gratitude to the embassies of Uruguay and Argentina for their assistance in organizing the bilateral meetings in the capitals of those countries.

The Ambassador also highlighted the establishment of parliamentary friendship groups last year and this year in the Argentine Chamber of Deputies and the Chilean Senate, respectively. He encouraged representatives of other countries in the region to support the creation of similar structures within their own legislative bodies. As a positive example of inter-parliamentary dialogue, he pointed to the activities of the “Kazakhstan-Brazil” parliamentary groups in both chambers of the Brazilian Parliament, whose delegations have visited Kazakhstan and held several joint sessions with Kazakh parliamentarians in Astana.

The meeting participants, in turn, acknowledged Kazakhstan’s key role in Central Asia in relations with South American countries and expressed their readiness to actively contribute to the comprehensive expansion and deepening of political, economic, trade, and cultural-humanitarian dialogue. They also wished success to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in implementing its planned initiatives. The parties agreed to maintain regular working contact at the level of their countries’ diplomatic missions.
