On May 13, 2025, the opening of the First International Theater Festival "MONOFEST" took place at the regional Russian Drama Theater. The festival will be held from 13 to 18 May. The purpose of this festival is to familiarize the general audience with the best achievements in the field of world theatrical mono-art, the development of this genre in Kazakhstan and the promotion of a more active integration of Kazakhstani theater into the international cultural context. Establishing and strengthening creative contacts between representatives of theatrical professions, creating conditions for the exchange of experience between theater groups participating in the festival. There are 9 participants of the festival from 8 countries: Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Montenegro. The expert council of the festival includes well-known European theater artists: Nina Mazur, Sania Kabdieva, Mentor Zimberai. At the opening ceremony of the festival, welcoming words were delivered by the head of the Department of Culture of the Akimat of Kostanay region Atamuratov Kuralbek Burketbayevich, director of the festival Yuri Ivanovich Ivlev, as well as Chairman of the Expert Council Nina Zinovievna Mazur. The opening ended with the screening of the first festival performance "THE HUMAN VOICE" (J. Cocteau).
