The annual congress of municipalities and cities opened in Brazil

Brasilia, May 20, 2025 - At the invitation of the National Confederation of Municipalities and Cities of Brazil (CNM), Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bolat Nussupov took part in the official opening ceremony of the XXVI Congress of Municipalities of Brazil "MARCHA-2025" with the participation of the President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, members of the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate of the Parliament, as well as the Cabinet of Ministers of Brazil.
The event is organized by CNM and traditionally brings together about a thousand participants, including regional governors, mayors of cities and municipalities of Brazil, secretaries of land governments and municipal managers. The congress will be held from May 19 to 22 this year, where topics such as federalization, parliamentarism, public safety, ecology, healthcare and education will be discussed. The main focus of the Congress this year is on the issues of combating climate change and solving environmental problems of the regions within the framework of Brazil's presidency of the international conference on climate change COP30 in Belém in November of this year.
