Ulttyk dam festivals was held: the best Kazakh dishes in modern execution were chosen in Almaty
As part of the Year of Working Professions, the First Republican contest "Ulttyk dam Festivals" — "Festival of National Taste" was held in Almaty on the basis of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

The festival was attended by social partners, students, masters of industrial training and college teachers from Almaty, Taraz, as well as Almaty and Zhambyl regions. In total, the competition gathered about

Director of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, N.Zh. Zhabykbayev, as one of the organizers of the competition, stressed the importance of holding the event.:

"The event is aimed at popularizing working professions in the field of culinary arts, reviving and preserving the national traditions of Kazakh cuisine, as well as increasing the prestige of the cook profession and developing the creative potential of young professionals."

The main goal of the competition was to preserve and popularize the centuries-old traditions of Kazakh national cuisine, as well as the revival of lost recipes and the creation of new modern dishes reflecting the cultural heritage of the country. The participants sought to increase interest in national gastronomy, culture and customs, to present forgotten dishes such as "asip", "zhanyshpa", "mi shuzhyk", "kuyryk bauyr", "zhent", "balkaymak", "uyz" and "kuymak" in a new interpretation. The competition also contributed to the promotion of Kazakh cuisine among tourists, the expansion of its presence in the restaurant industry and the exchange of best practices in the field of culinary arts.

One of the participants of the competition, a teacher at the Taraz College of Service and Technology, Kurmanalieva M.Z., shared her opinion about the event.:

"We are a team of industrial training masters from Taraz. We participate in the nomination "Zhangan ulttyk dam". In preparation for the competition, we studied our traditions and prepared dishes in a modern presentation that can be included in the restaurant menu. These dishes may appeal not only to our compatriots, but also to tourists and guests of our Republic."

The evaluation of the competition works was carried out by an expert commission, which included experienced chefs, representatives of the restaurant business, teachers, as well as international and national experts from the WorldSkills championship specializing in the field of culinary arts and professional education. Following the results of the competition, the winners were awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes.
