Systematic work continues in the Mangystau region to ensure the country's energy security and comply with time restrictions on the export of petroleum products. Employees of the Tazhen customs post of the Department of State Revenue for the Mangystau region demonstrate high vigilance, identifying attempts to illegally export diesel fuel that could damage the domestic market.

According to the order of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 30, 2026 No. 175-N/K, from May 21 to November 21, 2026, a ban was imposed on the export by road of gasoline, diesel fuel and certain types of petroleum products from the territory of Kazakhstan, including to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. This temporary but fundamentally important measure is aimed at stabilizing the domestic market and preventing fuel shortages.

Despite the ban, some drivers of international flights are trying to circumvent it by installing additional fuel tanks on trucks that are not provided for by the factory design. It is precisely such violations that are regularly detected and suppressed by inspectors of the Tazhen customs post.

The results of the work

The Beineu District Court of Mangystau region considered a series of administrative cases under article 545 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In all cases, the violators were international drivers, mostly Uzbek citizens, who tried to export diesel fuel through the Tazhen customs post.

Here are some examples:

- the driver of the B.U.M. (DAF car) was found to have an additional 180-liter tank completely filled with diesel fuel;

- 95 liters of diesel were seized from an unofficial tank at P.A.S.;

- H.F.Ya. (Isuzu car) — 120 liters;

- E.F.T. has 500 liters;

- R.A.Y. has 70 liters.;

- A.N. has 500 liters.

In all cases, the court found the drivers guilty, confiscated fuel for state revenue, and fined each person 64875 tenge (15 monthly calculation indices). The court took into account the guilty plea and remorse of the violators, but left the sanction in full, provided by law.

Customs officers carry out not only a formal document check, but also a thorough inspection of vehicles, identifying artisanal additional containers that drivers often fill at the gas station for subsequent export.

Why is this important?

Every liter of illegally exported diesel fuel poses risks to the domestic market. Under time constraints, the work of customs officers directly protects the interests of citizens and businesses in Kazakhstan. Their vigilance is a real contribution to the stability of the region's fuel supply.

The Department of State Revenue for the Mangystau region emphasizes that compliance with the ban is the responsibility of all participants in international transportation. Attempts to circumvent the law by using additional fuel tanks will continue to be severely suppressed.

The Tazhen Customs post is the largest international checkpoint for multilateral cargo, passenger and automobile traffic located on the external border of the Eurasian Economic Union with the Republic of Uzbekistan.
