Politics, economics, climate: the IFA has started its work

The Astana International Forum (AIF) has started its work in Astana today. The forum's theme is "Connecting minds, shaping the future".
The Forum starts with a plenary session chaired by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The IFA aims to strengthen international cooperation in the face of global change, with a focus on the economy, climate and interstate relations.
The Forum is attended by heads of state and Government, heads of international organizations and major companies, politicians and representatives of expert circles.
The forum has more than 7,000 registered participants. Among them are more than 160 speakers from Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa, representing leading international organizations such as the United Nations, FAO, IOM and WIPO. Over the course of two days, they, together with industry experts, will consider models of interstate cooperation and prospects for the formation of new global partnerships.

The main directions of the MFA:
– Foreign policy and international security;
– Energy and climate change;
– Economics and finance.
The program includes more than 40 panel sessions, informal discussions and other extracurricular activities.
