Abu Dhabi, 10 August 2026 – Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Rauan Zhumabek, participated in the scientific and practical conference entitled “World of Abai – Eternal Heritage,” organised by the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the birthday of the great Kazakh poet Abai Qunanbaiuly.

In his welcoming remarks, the Kazakh diplomat noted that Abai was an outstanding figure who made an invaluable contribution not only to the spiritual heritage of the Kazakh people, but also to the cultural and spiritual treasury of all humanity. He emphasised that promoting the great thinker’s legacy internationally contributes to showcasing Kazakhstan’s national culture and literature.

In this regard, R. Zhumabek noted that in 2020, on the initiative of the Head of State and in commemoration of the 175th anniversary of the great poet, Abai’s works were translated into 10 languages of the world. Among them was Arabic, with the publication of a book entitled “Abai’s Legacy – A Common Value for All Humanity”, featuring a collection of the poet’s works.

Furthermore, he highlighted that the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Abu Dhabi hosts the “Abai” Cultural and Educational Hall, which features books by Kazakh and foreign researchers on the great thinker in Arabic and English.

In conclusion, the Ambassador expressed confidence that, through active efforts to promote the great poet’s legacy abroad, the time will come when foreigners will speak of the Kazakh people as the people of Abai.
