From May 13 to 20, 2025, the regional selection stage of the 23rd Regional Children's Creativity Contest «Zhetysu Zhuldyzdary – 2025» for the Akim's prize was held across 8 districts and 2 cities of our region. On June 1, a gala concert and award ceremony of the contest took place at the I. Zhansugurov Palace of Culture.

The aim of the contest was to foster children's creativity, open doors to the big stage, promote musical and aesthetic education, and support young talents.
Approximately 1172 participants from all districts and cities of the region took part in the selection stage.

The contest was held in four categories:

1. Pop Vocal
2. Traditional Song
3. Choreography
4. Instrumental Performance

Participants competed in three age groups:

Junior group: 5–8 years

Middle group: 9–11 years

Senior group: 12–15 years

The panel of judges included notable figures in the arts:

1. Askar Kaliuly Nurmykhametov – Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Artistic Director of the Zhetysu Regional Center for Folk Art.
2. Gulmira Malikqyzy Kalkabayeva – Head of the Department for Cultural and Arts Development and Monitoring at the Zhetysu Regional Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation.
3. Nurboll Abdykapporovich Suyundykov – Rehearsal instructor of the Zhetysu Dance Ensemble at the D. Rakhyshev Regional Philharmonic, and choreography teacher at the K. Baiseyitov Music College.
4. Tanzharyk Binislamuly Orynbasar – Laureate of national and international competitions, distinguished instrumentalist, musician in the Mukan Tulebayev Folk Instruments Orchestra of the D. Rakhyshev Philharmonic.
5. Zhanatbek Aydarali – Poet and traditional singer, leading specialist at the Zhetysu Regional Center for Folk Art.

Based on the contest results, winners in each nomination and age group were awarded diplomas, certificates, and cash certificates.
