The Museum of the History of Almaty has been awarded the honorary title of "Museum of the Year" by the prestigious Freedom Ticketon Awards 2025. The subordinate organization of the Department of Culture of the city received a certificate in the amount of 3,500,000 tenge, which will be used to develop the museum infrastructure and implement new educational initiatives.
It should be noted that the largest museums of the country competed for the main trophy in the nomination, including the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Central State Museum, the A. Kasteev State Museum of Art, the Aziret Sultan Museum Reserve, the Abai Zhidebai-Borili Museum Reserve, the historical and cultural complex "Shym Kala", the center The First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and others.
The victory in the competition confirms the status of the Museum of the History of Almaty as one of the leading centers of historical memory and cultural identity in Kazakhstan.
By the way, the Museum of the History of Almaty is a part of the Association of Museums of Almaty. Earlier, according to the results of the selection of the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY, the Association was recognized as the best among the museums of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan and awarded the Best Museum of the Turkish World award for its contribution to the preservation and popularization of the cultural heritage of the Turkic world.
