Karagandy and Kumanovo signed MoU on cooperation

Karagandy, May 30, 2025 – As part of the Astana International Forum, the Mayor of Kumanovo, North Macedonia, Maksim Dimitrievski visited Karagandy.
During the visit Dimitrievski met with the Akim of the city Meiram Kozhukhov and members of the Maslikhat (City Council).
The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation between the two cities in various areas of mutual interest.
Mr. Kozhukhov briefed Mayor of Kumanovo on the history of Karagandy, its economic potential, socio-cultural development, and expressed readiness to establish close cooperation between the cities of the two countries.
Dimitrievski praised the current development of Karagandy and the region as a whole, noting a strong interest in further strengthening ties.
Following the meeting, a Memorandum on cooperation was signed between the Akimat of Karaganda and the Municipality of Kumanovo, aimed at developing trade-economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as exchanging experience in urban governance, transport, ecology, and social development.
The signing of the Memorandum confirmed the parties’ commitment to a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to North Macedonia, Satybaldy Burshakov and the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Kumanovo, Ejup Abdullahi also attended the meeting.
