The Head of State expressed his support for Elina Valtonen’s efforts as she leads the OSCE amid a highly challenging regional and global security environment.

“This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act. Kazakhstan remains firmly committed to these fundamental values,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The President also praised the current state of Kazakh-Finnish relations. He emphasized that Finland is a long-standing partner of Astana in the Nordic region and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to further deepen bilateral contacts.

In response, Elina Valtonen noted that the OSCE places great importance on strengthening its ties with Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

“I commend your efforts to enhance Kazakhstan’s international standing, thanks to which the country has established itself as an influential middle power in the region and globally. Kazakhstan’s authority is further reinforced through its active participation in organizations such as the OSCE. We sincerely appreciate your proactive role during these challenging times, particularly in the economic and environmental spheres. Our cooperation with the OSCE Programme Office in Astana has been especially fruitful,” said the OSCE Chair-in-Office.
