A round table was held in Astana with the participation of business representatives from Kazakhstan and North Macedonia

Astana, June 9, 2025 – As part of a working visit to Astana, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia, Timcho Mucunski, took part in a round table at the Astana International Financial Center with the participation of representatives of the business communities of the two countries.
During the event, the participants discussed prospects and opportunities for increasing mutual trade, investment and tourism.
In his speech, Mr. Mucunski expressed confidence that this platform will further contribute to the expansion of mutually beneficial partnership and stressed that there is a huge potential for the development of trade and investment cooperation.
In addition, the delegation of North Macedonia presented opportunities to attract investment in the manufacturing and technology sector and the development of tourism.
Financial Director and Head of Administrative Affairs of the AIFC Administration Bakhtiyar Tleubekov noted that the round table showed the common desire of the parties to maintain a meaningful dialogue and practical partnership. The Director expressed hope for deepening cooperation in key sectors of economic cooperation.
Mr. Tleubekov presented the AIFC's capabilities for doing business, structuring transactions and investments. He informed that more than 3,900 companies from 80 countries, including the USA, Great Britain, China, Turkey, Singapore and others, are registered in the financial center, which is a leader in the region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Since its establishment in 2018, over $14.8 billion of investments have been attracted to the economy of Kazakhstan through the AIFC platform.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC «NC «Kazakh Invest» A.Kozhanov, Chairman of the Board of JSC «NC «Kazakh Tourism» K.Sadvakasov and Adviser to the Chairman of the Board of National Chamber of Entrepreneurs «Atameken» K.Alin spoke about the opportunities for investment cooperation, tourism and business.
The round table was attended by Ambassador of Kazakhstan to North Macedonia Satybaldy Burshakov and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kumanovo Ejup Abdulahi.
