Astana, June 9, 2025 – The Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliyev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Republic of North Macedonia Timcho Mucunski, who arrived in Astana on a working visit.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of trade and economic cooperation. Special attention was paid to creating conditions for a steady increase in trade turnover. It should be noted that both sides are consistently working to boost mutual trade and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.

A.Shakkaliyev noted the need to step up joint efforts to give positive dynamics to bilateral trade.

Kazakhstan is ready to offer North Macedonia exports of processed goods worth over 320 million US dollars, including products from the petrochemical, metallurgy, food, chemical, pharmaceutical and machine-building industries.

In turn, North Macedonia expressed its readiness to expand its presence in the Kazakhstan market. Minister Timcho Mutsunski noted that an office of the pharmaceutical company Alkaloid from North Macedonia has been opened in Almaty, which intends to increase investments and create new jobs.

The talks also discussed the possibilities of cooperation in such areas as agriculture, tourism, digitalization, transport and logistics. Special attention was paid to the development of multimodal routes within the framework of the North–South initiative, which opens up new horizons for connecting the infrastructures of Central Asia and the Balkan region.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their desire to deepen trade and investment cooperation and expand interagency and cooperation. The parties agreed to intensify the exchange of business delegations and facilitate contacts between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting was attended by Kazakhstan Ambassador to North Macedonia Satybaldy Burshakov.
