Kazakhstan and MVM Group discuss cooperation in the energy of the future
25.06.2025 15:56:40 3817Budapest, June 20, 2025 — The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary hosted a meeting between Ambassador Abzal Saparbekuly and Mr. Karoly Matrai, CEO of MVM Group, one of Hungary’s leading energy companies.
The parties discussed prospects for deepening their energy partnership, continuing the dialogue initiated during MVM Group’s participation in the roundtable with the President of Kazakhstan in November 2024.
Key areas of potential cooperation include gas exploration and processing, modernization of energy infrastructure, development of renewable energy sources, integration into international energy corridors, and the exchange of expertise and technologies.
The Ambassador informed about the ongoing review of the dry cooling technology proposed by MVM EGI within the framework of preparations for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan. He noted that key stakeholders have been identified and the process is entering an active phase.
The sides also discussed the possibility of organizing technical delegations and expert visits in both directions, as well as the training of Kazakh specialists at MVM Group’s facilities.
The Hungarian side expressed strong interest in cooperation and readiness to continue engagement with relevant Kazakh institutions.
