Women of Kazakhstan’s Contribution to Multilateral Diplomacy Showcased in Geneva

Geneva, June 24, 2025 – The Permanent Mission of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Office in Geneva has contributed to the “Not a Woman’s Job?: Women Leading in Multilateralism and Diplomacy” exhibition, held at the Palais des Nations from June 24 to July 4, 2025.
The contribution highlights the remarkable legacies of Ambassador Akmaral Arystanbekova, the first Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, and Ambassador Madina Jarbussynova, former Permanent Representative to the UN and current member of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The exhibition highlights their contribution to diplomacy, showcasing how Kazakh women have advanced international cooperation and global policy development.
The event’s opening was attended by heads of diplomatic missions and high-level UN officials, with a keynote speech by Director General of the UN Office in Geneva Tatiana Valovaya. Furthermore, Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan Yerlan Alimbayev was honoured to welcome Ambassador Jarbussynova at the exhibition’s opening.
Kazakhstan’s participation in the exhibition reaffirms our country’s commitment to promoting women’s leadership and gender equality on the global stage, celebrating the achievements of women who continue to shape a more inclusive world.
