“I am thankful to everyone who came to honor my son’s memory. Though his life was short, it was bright. He served the Motherland with pride. It’s a great honor for our family that his name lives on through events like this. My heartfelt thanks to the leadership of the National Guard and the Academy for making this memorial tournament an annual tradition.”

Azamat Nurpeisov discovered his passion for boxing and kickboxing during school years. His determination brought him success in a short time: he became an international master of sports, a multiple-time champion and winner of the Kazakhstan Cup, a silver medalist at the 2009 World Championship in Italy, a bronze medalist at the 2011 World Championship in Ireland, Asian champion in India (2012), and silver medalist at the 2013 World Championship in Turkey.
