On June 27, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Lebanon Rasul Zhumaly met with the President of the International Chamber of Commerce of this country, Wajih Bizri. During the conversation, the parties expressed hope that the gradual stabilization of the political situation in Lebanon and the Middle East as a whole will give a positive impetus to business activity in the region. In this regard, the parties noted that good prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields are also opening up for Lebanon and Kazakhstan. According to Wajih Bizri, Kazakhstan can become an important partner, especially in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, and transport logistics. He also emphasized the significant role of Kazakhstan in Central Asia and its advantageous transit position between the East and the West, which is of great interest. In turn, the traditional influence of Lebanese businessmen in Africa and the Persian Gulf region can give additional impetus to bilateral cooperation. In order to maximize the potential, the parties exchanged specific proposals, discussing such measures as improving the legal framework, organizing joint forums, and establishing direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries. The meeting was attended by the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Lebanon Wajdi Maalouf and representatives of a number of Lebanese companies.
