On July 2, 2025, the Justice Departments of Kostanay, Akmola, North Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions, chaired by a representative of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulnar Kaken, held an interregional online seminar with the participation of representatives of organizations managing property rights on a collective basis.
The topic of the seminar was "The main issues of the activities of organizations managing property rights on a collective basis."
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Non-profit Organization for the Protection of Copyright and Related Rights "Amanat", the Eurasian Union of Copyright Holders and the Kazakh Copyright Society.
During the event, special attention was paid to the observance of copyright norms when using music in commercial activities, issues of collective rights management in the field of collecting remuneration for private copying, as well as new applications for reading musical works developed by KazAK.
As a result of the event, it was decided to establish close cooperation between the OKUP, the territorial justice authorities and the Atameken Chamber of Entrepreneurs to conduct law enforcement work in the field of intellectual property, including on issues of collective rights management for users performing musical works in public.
