Ambassador’s Meeting with the Head of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Central Asia and Mongolia

Brussels, 3 July 2025 – Ambassador Margulan Baimukhan met with Ms. Giuseppina Princi, Chair of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Central Asia and Mongolia (DCAS), at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Belgium.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the outcomes of interparliamentary cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union. It was emphasized that a high level of engagement achieved through the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee formats and the joint events held this year, including the roundtable on “EU–Kazakhstan: Education and Culture – Sustainable Bridges of Cooperation.”

The Kazakh diplomat highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy as an important tool for advancing not only political and economic dialogue but also for strengthening cultural, humanitarian, and academic ties, as evidenced by the expanding cooperation between Kazakh and European universities.

Underscoring the high level of current cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU within the parliamentary track, the MEP presented an official letter of appreciation on behalf of DCAS to Ambassador Baimukhan.

Ms. Princi, for her part, also expressed support for initiatives to enhance interregional cooperation with Central Asia, including plans to hold a roundtable in the European Parliament this year with the participation of the Ambassadors of the region and the EU Special Representative for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprais.

The Head of the Delegation for Relations with Central Asia and Mongolia emphasized that, given the constructive dialogue established between the parties, Members of the European Parliament remain ready to further advance multifaceted cooperation with Astana within the framework of the new strategic partnership announced at the “CA–EU” Summit on 4 April 2025.
