Islamabad, July 2, 2025 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, met with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Attaullah Tarar. 

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in the media sector.

Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin emphasized the importance of establishing interaction between the media communities of Kazakhstan and Pakistan in order to bridge the information gap between the two countries. He expressed interest in facilitating direct contacts between television and print media outlets, including the opening of correspondent offices of leading TV channels in the capitals of both countries.

The Ambassador also briefed the Pakistani side on the outcomes of the 13th session of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan joint Intergovernmental Commission, which took place on April 29 this year in Islamabad, as well as the Business Forum held in Karachi. He noted the signing of several bilateral documents, including a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of information between the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Federal Minister A.Tarar confirmed Pakistan’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Kazakhstan in the information sphere. He highlighted the significant potential for collaboration and the importance of launching joint television projects. He also proposed giving the partnership a more practical dimension by putting forward a number of initiatives.

Additionally, the Ambassador held a meeting with Mr. Muhammad Asim Khichi, Director General of the national news agency "Associated Press of Pakistan" (APP),” during which they discussed potential avenues for cooperation between APP and Kazakhstani partners.

Both parties agreed to intensify efforts in exchanging news content.
